Troy grew up in Hawai. In the 90’s, he was the leader of the cult and abrasive band, Chokebore. The inward violence didn’t exactly vanish when he converted to folk guitar: his enchanting pop songs are slow, but his style remains sharp and his voice is raw. It lingers, it roars and it sways: sculpting ether steadied by poisonous vibrations.
